How to Create and Schedule Carousels From Claude or ChatGPT

Yes. Through the Supaslides MCP server, your AI assistant can turn a website into a brand theme, write a carousel, export it as PNG, PDF or video, and schedule it to Instagram, Facebook or X. It works today in Claude Code, Cursor and other clients that send an API key header. The ChatGPT app and claude.ai are not supported yet.

If you already spend your day in an AI assistant, the slow part of making a carousel is the round trip: copy the draft, open a design tool, rebuild the slides, export, upload, schedule. MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the open standard that lets an assistant call outside tools, so the assistant can do those steps itself on your account. Which AI apps can connect today

The Supaslides server authenticates with a personal API key, sent as an Authorization: Bearer sk_... header. So the real question is whether your app lets you set a custom header on a remote MCP server. Here is the honest state of things:

OAuth sign-in is on the roadmap, and it is what will open up claude.ai and the ChatGPT app. We are not putting a date on it here.

Setup, step by step

1. Get an account. Sign up free, or try a deck first without an account. No card needed.
2. Create an API key. In the app, open Settings, then API keys, and create a key. It is shown once, so copy it straight away and treat it like a password. Keys are available on every plan, Free included.
3. Add the server to your client. Replace sk_YOUR_KEY with your key. In Claude Code, run this once in a terminal:

4. Give long calls room. Creating a brand takes 60 to 120 seconds because the server opens your site in a browser and has Claude study it. Current Claude Code versions wait long enough by default, but if you have set MCP_TOOL_TIMEOUT yourself, keep it at 180000 (three minutes) or more. Codex CLI stops tool calls after 60 seconds unless you raise tool_timeout_sec. In other clients, look for a tool timeout setting if brand creation gets cut off.
5. Connect social accounts (only for scheduling). Instagram, Facebook Pages and X are connected once in the app, in Settings or on the brand page. After that, your assistant can post to them. Scheduling needs a Pro or Studio plan.
6. Check the connection.Ask: “List my Supaslides brands.” An empty list is a good answer. An authentication error means the key or header is off.

Prompts you can paste

You don’t need to name tools or learn a syntax. These are ordinary requests the server handles end to end:

• “Create a brand from https://yourcompany.com and show me its starter ideas.” You get the extracted colors, fonts, logo and voice, plus 5 carousel ideas.
• “Write a 7-slide carousel for that brand about the three mistakes new customers make in their first week.” Claude writes the copy in your brand’s voice, picks a layout per slide and adds a caption.
• “Export it as one animated video and send me the download link when it’s ready.” Video renders in a queue and takes a few minutes; the assistant checks back for the link.
• “Also export it as a LinkedIn PDF.” Same deck, document format. LinkedIn exports need a paid plan.
• “Upload ~/Desktop/team-photo.jpg to the brand and build a carousel around it.” Works in clients that can run a shell command, like Claude Code, because the assistant uploads the file with a one-time link.
• “Schedule it to our Instagram account next Tuesday at 9am New York time.” Say your time zone; the assistant converts it to an exact timestamp.

What happens under the hood

Your assistant picks from a set of tools and chains them. For the prompts above, that looks like this:

• create_brand captures the site and builds the theme (60 to 120 seconds). If you already have a brand for that site, it returns the existing one instead of extracting it again.
• generate_carousel writes 3 to 10 slides from your brief (15 to 40 seconds) and saves the deck to your account with an editor link.
• export_carousel renders PNGs (or a PDF for LinkedIn) in 30 to 90 seconds, or queues an animated video. check_export returns the download link when the video is done.
• create_image_upload and add_image put your own images into the brand library.
• list_social_accounts finds your connected accounts, and schedule_carousel books the post. list_scheduled_posts shows its status and the live link once it publishes.

Everything lands in your Supaslides account, so you can open any deck in the editor to tweak a line before it goes out. It is the same pipeline as turning a website URL into an on-brand carousel in the app, just driven from chat.

Plan limits

MCP calls use the same allowances as the app. A carousel made from chat counts once, exactly like one made in the editor. When a limit runs out, the error tells your assistant which one.

What it cannot do yet

• Run inside the ChatGPT app or claude.ai. Both need OAuth sign-in, which is not live yet.
• Connect social accounts for you. Linking Instagram, a Facebook Page or X happens once in the app. The assistant can only post to accounts that are already connected.
• Publish to TikTok. TikTok publishing is still in review. You can export TikTok-sized slides and post them yourself.
• Fine-tune the design. There is no tool for editing slide text or switching the art direction. The assistant gives you an editor link for that.

The short version

If you work in Claude Code, Cursor or another client that takes a custom header, you can go from a website to a scheduled, on-brand carousel without leaving the chat. Create a key, paste one config, and ask. The MCP setup docs have the reference version of these steps. If you live in the ChatGPT app or claude.ai, the web app is the way in for now.
